Strong, comfortable crowns for kids in Sandy, UT that protect weakened baby teeth, in silver or natural tooth color.

When a cavity is large, a filling isn't always enough to keep a tiny tooth strong. A crown can protect it and keep your child comfortable until their adult tooth is ready to join the party. At Brave Kids Dental Co., our crowns for kids in Sandy, UT are placed gently, with plenty of explanation and comfort along the way.
A crown is a small cap that covers the whole tooth. It protects a tooth that's been weakened by a large cavity, a break or a pulpotomy, so it can keep helping your child chew, speak and smile.
We'll review the benefits and considerations of each option with you. Our goal is to support your family in making the right decision for your child's smile.
Throughout the visit, ceiling TVs, noise-reducing headphones and weighted lap pads help your child stay calm. For children who need more support, we'll talk about sedation options.
Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth and guide them into place. Losing one too early can cause crowding later. A crown helps keep the tooth healthy until it falls out naturally. If a tooth can't be saved, we'll talk about a space maintainer.
A crown on a baby tooth is designed to last until that tooth falls out on its own.
Some kids feel shy about a silver tooth, while others think it's a superhero badge. If your child is unsure, ask us about tooth-colored zirconia, and talk about their crown as something that makes their tooth extra strong.
At Brave Kids, we believe parents deserve full transparency. We'll explain every crown option clearly and help you choose what's right for your child, with no pressure.
Dr. Vy Tran has spent over 20 years combined in medicine and dentistry. She started as a respiratory therapist at 19, caring for children in the ER, NICU, PICU and surgery, then earned her DMD and a master's in Oral Biology at the University of Toledo, trained at the University of Utah and specialized in pediatric dentistry.
She also completed a fellowship at the Rose F. Kennedy Center in the Bronx, NY, with additional training in caring for children with special needs. She'll review the risks and benefits of each crown with you and help you make the right choice for your child's smile.
She's a mom herself, so she knows the worry from the parent's side of the chair, and she built Brave Kids around one goal: making the dentist the easiest part of your kid's day.

A large cavity on a tiny tooth can weaken it. A crown covers and protects the tooth so it can keep doing its job until the adult tooth is ready to come in.
We offer stainless steel crowns, which are strong and ideal for back baby teeth, and tooth-colored zirconia crowns for families who prefer a more natural look. Colorful crown options are coming soon, too.
Stainless steel crowns are silver, very durable and a great fit for back teeth that need to stay put until adult teeth arrive. Zirconia crowns are tooth-colored, metal-free and durable. Dr. Vy will review the benefits and considerations of each so you can choose what's best for your child.
We numb the tooth first and explain every step in kid-friendly words. Comfort tools and laughing gas are available, and for kids who need more support, we can talk about sedation options.
Often, yes. After a pulpotomy, a crown is usually placed to protect the treated tooth. Dr. Vy will explain the plan before treatment.
A crown on a baby tooth is designed to last until that tooth falls out naturally. We'll check it at every visit.
Brush and floss around it like any other tooth, and keep sticky, chewy candy to a minimum. Regular checkups help it last.
