Safe, gentle sedation dentistry for kids in Sandy, UT that eases anxiety and helps every child feel calm during dental care.

Dental visits don't have to feel overwhelming or stressful. At Brave Kids, we understand that some children need extra support during dental care. That's why we offer a variety of gentle sedation options for kids in Sandy, UT, to create a calm, peaceful experience for every child.
Whether your little one feels anxious, has sensory sensitivities or needs more extensive care, our approach combines safe sedation techniques with a sensory-informed environment, always prioritizing your child's comfort, confidence and well-being.
IV sedation and general anesthesia are provided by our trusted sedation team of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs). Their role is to keep your child safely sedated and closely monitored, while Dr. Vy focuses on the dental care. We partner closely with them for a safe, smooth and supportive experience from start to finish.
When treatment takes place in our office, your child stays in a familiar, comforting environment. That means less disruption to their routine and no need for a hospital visit. Our calm, sensory-friendly space, with soft lighting and cozy, rounded rooms, helps children feel at ease before and after their care.
Choosing the right option depends on your child's age, anxiety level and the dental care they need. During your consultation, we'll assess your child's needs, talk about their comfort and explain which options fit best. Many children do well with comfort tools alone, and we'll never recommend more than your child needs. Children with special needs often benefit from a combination of sedation and our sensory-friendly approach.
Follow the eating and drinking instructions we give you carefully, since they keep sedation safe. Keep the conversation calm and positive, dress your child in comfy clothes, and bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal for the ride home.
We believe no child should have to feel afraid to get the care they need. At Brave Kids, sedation is always planned with you, explained clearly and delivered with close attention to safety.
Dr. Vy Tran has spent over 20 years combined in medicine and dentistry. She started as a respiratory therapist at 19, caring for children in the ER, NICU, PICU and surgery, then earned her DMD and a master's in Oral Biology at the University of Toledo, trained at the University of Utah and specialized in pediatric dentistry.
She also completed a fellowship at the Rose F. Kennedy Center in the Bronx, NY, with additional training in caring for children with special needs. Her years caring for children in hospital ICUs and surgery give her a deep respect for safe, carefully monitored sedation.
She's a mom herself, so she knows the worry from the parent's side of the chair, and she built Brave Kids around one goal: making the dentist the easiest part of your kid's day.

First we have a thorough consultation to understand your child's dental needs, comfort level and any sensory sensitivities, and to review their medical history. Then we create a personalized sedation plan, and we'll give you clear instructions for the day.
We monitor your child closely the whole time, using advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs. Your child's safety is always our top priority.
